Group #2 Discussion Post

The median of a trapezoid is parallel to its bases and is equal to one half of their sum.

Prove this theorem using the diagram provided in class.

i think we were all going to prove it through the congruence of triangles. at least that is what we were working on in class

I've proved that DC=BH by congruence of triangles, but I don't know where to go from there

after you prove that the dc=bh use the midpoint theorem that states the line through the midpoints is equal to 1/2 the opposite side, so PQ=1/2 AH. by construction AH= AB+BH and by the transitive property AH=AB+DC so PQ is half of AB+DC also by the transitive property which proves the theorem
